ATHAC CREATIVE ARTISTS
GROUP SHOW 2025

11th October to 21st November 2025
The Hive

ATHAC Creative Artists is a collective of artists including
Mehar Khan, Renée Parkes, Ryan Choon, Safina Hector & Janae Dryden

The work of this collective spans across various media such as Painting, Drawing, 3D, Textiles, Digital Work, Photography, Music and Sculpture.

The artists share lived experiences of growing up in Handsworth, identifying as neurodivergent and/or learning disabled; whilst also sharing a passion for the arts and nature as spaces of personal expression and inspiration, calm and connection.

Though the exhibition is visually and thematically tied to the collective’s history, it is also held together by the group working together over the course of the last few years to produce new artwork out of workshops led by various artist mentors and facilitators – many of whom identify as disabled and/or neurodivergent.

ABOUT ATHAC

ATHAC (Access to Heritage, Art and Culture) is a Handsworth-based social enterprise providing cultural access support services to autistic and learning disabled children, young people and adults along with support for carers. ATHAC also supports families from disadvantaged backgrounds to access enriching activities.

The Hive
43-47 Vittoria St, B1 3PE
Tuesday - Friday 10am - 3.30pm (last admission 3pm)

Access

The gallery has a combination of spot and strip lights so the levels can be adjusted a bit.
There are two toilets, one which is accessible and has a hoist but is not a full changing rooms toilet.
There is no hearing loop.
There is a platform lift for accessing the Hive which is fine for most wheelchairs and mobility vehicles. There is also street access from Regent Place with a wider door which provides almost level access (except for a 1 inch kerb).
There are some parking bays in Regent Place but they are only for 2 hours and do get filled up. Otherwise parking in the area is metered, or there are two carparks in the vicinity Jewellery Quarter Multi-storey Car Park (free to blue badge holders) and Birmingham Newhall Street NCP Car Parking.
